Date: 19th December 2017. After their recent presentation at the EICMA International Exhibition in Milan (November 2017), the Piaggio Group’s new products travelled to the NEC in Birmingham for the “Motor Cycle Live 2017” show from 18 to 26 November. This is the most important event in the UK’s two-wheeler industry, attended by the world’s leading manufacturers and eagerly awaited by British enthusiasts. The Piaggio Group’s attendance at the NEC was coordinated by the British selling agency Piaggio Limited.
Piaggio, Vespa, Moto Guzzi, Aprilia were the brands on display. In the Aprilia area, visitors took part in a challenge to win a hospitality pass for the next MotoGP world championship, a helmet and Aprilia Racing apparel; in the Vespa area, a cheerful Piaggio Ape van had been equipped to offer visitors a cup of excellent Italian coffee.
The Piaggio Group also took part in the “Motor Expo 2017” show in Bangkok (30 November-11 December, Impact Challenger area), through the Thai importer Vespiario. The “34th Thailand International Motor Expo” confirmed the show’s reputation as a key occasion for the Asian automotives sector (exhibition & trade, more than 1,300,000 visitors). Complete with special events, it featured automobiles and motorcycles and was attended by the leading world players.
Products making their debut included the Vespa 946 (RED) – which was also the star of the Vespa RED Gala Dinner on 8 December, where Italy’s Ambassador in Thailand, Francesco Saverio Nisio, was the guest of honour – and the Vespa GTS Sport Edition and Vespa Primavera Touring Edition special series, with specific accessories.
